My favourite DIY facial scrub

I have always loved a good facial scrub and the feeling it leaves after you wash your face. I have tried many different exfoliators and some of them worked wonders, some of them was rubbish. Knowing how many chemicals was added to those face washes, scrubs and exfoliators I wanted to have something more natural and organic. So I made my own scrub, containing the most natural ingredients I could find in my kitchen. It's very easy to make and most of you probably know this simple recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Extra virgin organic coconut oil
  • Pure honey
  • Sea salt
  • Lemon

I mixed two table spoons of each ingredient, but you can add more depending on what you would like to achieve. Coconut oil is great moisturiser, honey helps fight against acne, lemon evens out your skin tone and sea salt is great to remove dead skin. Make sure you don't add too much salt, as you don't want to damage your skin with extremely rough texture.

Mix it all in a bowl until you get nice, smooth texture. Keep in mind that coconut oil melts very quickly so I would not recommend to keep the scrub in the shower. I keep mine in the fridge, so I get cooling and very natural facial scrub! I transferred all mixture in to Lush container because I didn't have anything else on hand. I have to say this facial scrub works perfectly for dry patches. If you follow me, you already know I had very bad break outs, so my skin was very dry around affected areas after so many spot treatments I've applied and any foundation looked terrible! But once I used this scrub it removed all dead skin and my skin felt soft again. I would recommend to prepare this scrub only for 2-3 uses because of its expiry date.

Have you tried this scrub already? Let me know your favourite DIY or drugstore facial exfoliator.

Lots of love,
Indre xoxo
